In 1 Kings 18:41 Elijah tells Ahab to go up, eat and drink for there is the sound of abundance of rain. Elijah was making a demand on the anointing to bring forth the increase upon the earth during a time of drought. The anointing was able to change the course of nature. The anointing was able to change circumstances. Facts are subject to change, and sudden change when the anointing speaks with the authority of God.
Joel 2:23 says God has given the former rain moderately, but He will cause the rain to come down, both the former and latter rain. The threshing floors will overflow. That is abundance...caused by the anointing. The anointing is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and this outpouring causes an increase in the natural realm. Problem is that we need to make a withdrawal to see the increase.
The anointing causes increase even when the world is suffering a lack. In John 10:10, Jesus said The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I came to bring life to the full in abundance till it overflows. Jesus is talking about overflowing abundance that is available to the Christians. To get this overflow, you need to get into the flow. You have free will, even as a born again Christian. You can choose to place yourself outside the flow or within the flow.
Acts 1:8 says that the spirit of the living God will come upon you and you will receive power. The word "upon" is an old English word, that was written as "up and on". We contracted the word to "upon". This verse refers a Holy Spirit flow that begins within you, flows up on the inside of you and overflows onto you. This is the supernatural flow that you want to be in, to receive the abundance.
God has streets (in heaven)paved in gold. The bible also says that that who are led by the Spirit are sons of God. The sons of God manifest the wealth of their Father. This is an abundance, overflowing life. This is not dependent on your environment. In the account of Elijah, there was a drought in the region. Elijah could very well have argued that as a result of the drought, he had to suffer like everybody else, but instead he called those things that be not as though they are. He acted like a son of the King of Kings. Elijah used the anointing to bring forth overflow. He was in the flow!
