• The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. THE WALK

    JOYALMINISTRIES

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
We are to do justly. That means in every situation, and in every decision we face, we need to choose to do the right thing from God’s perspective. This will not always be the easiest way, nor is it the most profitable, but it will always agree with God, His will and His Word.
We are to love mercy. Mercy is a broad term that refers to benevolence, forgiveness and kindness in a variety of ethical, religious, social and legal contexts. If we love mercy, we will be merciful in our attitude and demeanor toward one another, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Word tells us that God’s mercy is new every morning, and ours should be as well.

We are to walk humbly with our God. When we walk with someone, we walk in agreement with them. We are united in thought, word and deed. We are humble because we know that everything we have, He has given it to us. We are humble because we know that in ourselves no good thing exists and that we need the Spirit of the Lord to help us walk as we should.
Romans 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
If we walk after or in the Spirit, there is no condemnation to us! That is awesome and that must be the way we are to walk too.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
We need to be led by the Spirit of God all day long every day. We must not succumb to the flesh or its desires for lust or self. We are to take no care or thought for the needs of the body or the flesh, because the Lord will provide all we need. We are not to walk by sight, but by faith.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
If we are walking by faith, and in the Spirit we will not fulfill or succumb to the desires of the flesh. We can get in trouble when we take our eyes off of our King.

Galatians 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
We stay in the Spirit when we spend time with the Lord. We need time in His word daily, to be instant in prayer – which means always in a prayerful posture taking everything to the Lord in prayer, and being thankful for the many blessings the Lord continues to lavish upon us.
Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.

And, we need to walk in love continually. Love is the oxygen of the kingdom. The Lord sustains and holds us and the world together through love. We are children of God and as He is light and love, we need to be light and love to all those we encounter in our daily walk.
1 John 1:6-7 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
In summary, this is the way we must walk:
    • To do justly
    • Loving mercy
    • Humbly with our God
    • In the Spirit
    • In light and in love
When we do that, we are indeed the sons and daughters of our Father in heaven and we will walk in His great favor and we will change the world around us for all those we meet and care for.
