• The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. THE ANOINTING--THE LORD----MY FRIEND

    The Anointing

    holy
    If you were to look up the word ‘Anoint’ in a dictionary it would say;
To put oil on as a sign of consecration.
Then if we were to look up the word ‘Consecrate’:
To dedicate to a special or sacred purpose,
The word can be used in more than one way. anointing also spoke of covering, covering for a purpose, also to consecrate, which means to set apart.
In the New Testament, it refers to the Power of The Holy Spirit on us and in us.
1 John 2 verse 20; “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.”
1 John 2 verse 27: “The anointing you received from Him remains in you,”
Here John means that the anointing in us immediately recognizes Truth and exposes error.
We are anointed with The Holy Spirit for a purpose, and it is the anointing that enables our gifts to function well.

If we struggle in the tasks that Our Lord and Our Friend  has for us to do, we could be probably trying to things outside the ‘anointing’. When we move outside our anointing, we lose the peace and the clarity, that the anointing brings. When we do things under the anointing the work should be effortless, working out of great peace that comes with the anointing. This is not to say there will not be challenges, but the challenges will also become part of our testimony.
Our Lord and Our Friend will never give us more than we can handle under the anointing, but we should always want more of the anointing of The Holy Spirit in our lives, in order to excel in the purposes He has for our lives.

In Zechariah 4 verse 6 to 9; v6; “So he answered me. This is the Word of The Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength or by might, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts.” v7 :”What are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. And he will bring out the capstone accompanied by shouts of: ‘Grace, grace to it’!”  V8 “Then the word of The Lord came to me;”  v9: ” Zerubbabel’s hands have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will know that The Lord of Hosts has sent me to you.”
The task. The challenges and The completion of the task, were achieved under the covering of God’s Spirit.

Our Lord and Our Friend {Jesus} is always our example in everything. In Luke 4 verse 18: refers to when Jesus was in the synagogue in Nazareth. “The Spirit of The Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim the good news.”
Jesus had emptied Himself of His divine Glory, to become one of us, for the purpose of dying in our place. So The Holy Spirit needed to come into His life as an example to us of operating under the anointing and power of The Holy Spirit.
Jesus who was and is God, showed the way for us functioning under the power of The Holy Spirit.
The Joy of being anointed by the Holy Spirit for the purposes , Our Lord and Our Friend has for us. I myself want a greater anointing of The Holy Spirit to help achieve the excellence that He expects

We are created for great purpose and destiny, and we have been given a help to achieve these purposes, by the anointing and power of The Holy Spirit.
Seek after the anointing, not only will we be blessed, but we will be a blessing to others.
The Holy Spirit is The Third Person of The Trinity, through Whom God acts, reveals His will, empowers individuals, and discloses His Personal Presence.
Acts 1 verse 8: “But you will receive power when The Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witness in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Be willing to receive all that Our Lord and Our Friend has for each one of us.
    God Bless.
