The Kingly and Priestly anointing:
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light" (1 Peter 2:9, NIV) (Also see 1 Peter 2:1-8) In order to understand the prophetic context of these verses, you should look at the books of Joshua and Zecahriah. Joshua was the great high priest that led the children of Israel across the Jordan river with the ark of the covenant. After the crossing, all the male adults who had not been circumcised had to be circumcised. Joshua also had the priest put up a memorial of twelve stones. They had to be clean in order to enter into the Promised Land. Prophetically speaking, in order to carry the presence of God (ark) into our destinies, we must be holy before him. Zechariah was a prophet and recorded his visions. Here are two of his prophetic encounters: "Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes." Then he said to Joshua, "See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you." Then I said, "Put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the LORD stood by. The angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here. 'Listen, O high priest Joshua and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch..." (Zechariah 3:3-8) Joshua had to become clean in order to receive his priestly anointing. Priests sacrifice daily in order to be close to God and is consumed with passion for God. To steward the glory and presence of God on earth. "The word of the LORD came to me: 'Take silver and gold from the exiles... who have arrived from Babylon. Go the same day to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah. Take the silver and gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak. Tell him this is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the LORD. It is he who will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed with majesty and will sit and rule on his throne. And he will be a priest on his throne. And there will be harmony between the two.'" (Zechariah 6:9-13, NIV) Then Joshua received his kingly anointing or order to establish the Temple of the Lord and decree the word of the Lord. If your soul is circumcised, then you can receive kingdom authority. The authority comes from the relationship with God and it is for establishing God's kingdom on earth. Be blessed
